About

This tune is part of a 41-minute tape of Packie Russell from the “Knight, Briggs et al. Archive” recorded by John Knight in O’Connor’s Pub in 1973.

Packie Russell calls this tune “Séamus Cooley’s Hornpipe” at the end of the recording. It is more widely known as “Cooley’s Hornpipe” and is a composition of Paddy O’Brien from Co. Tipperary.

Many thanks to Matthew Wilson and the Knight, Briggs et al. Archive for this wonderful recording.
